Easy on that sugar, bud - eating less sugar can significantly reduce your calorie intake and help you shave off those extra pounds of unwanted winter insulation. FYI: carbohydrates are sugar. Therefore, it is also necessary to ease up on the bread and pasta this summer. Instead, increase your protein intake. However, if you MUST eat carbs, make sure you eat multi-grain or whole wheat carbohydrates.
Lighten up on the booze - The summer time heat brings the summer time booze. Drink responsibly. If you must have beer with the boys, drink light beer. You are better off drinking two light beers than one regular beer. If you want a cocktail, choose a lightly colored one instead of a dark one (for instance, opt for a vodka tonic rather than a whiskey coke). The darker the alcohol, the more sugar it has and hence the more calories. Beer guts, no glory.
Keep it bumpin' - Summer time brings a lot of action and excitement. Thus, keep it moving...literally! There is no need to imitate Billy Blanks and attempt to do 300 round house kicks in under a minute. However, look into playing some sports with your buddies, taking an afternoon jog, or simply jumping rope. Whichever activities you choose to get you moving, try to make sure that you do them at least 3-4 times a week. Yeah sure jogging, playing sports, or doing cardio will help you shed pounds but it won’t get you cut. If you want to develop a really nice physique go to the gym and go as often as necessary. Typically, you should go to the gym 2 – 4 for times a week for 1 to 1.5 hours. Staying longer and going to the gym more is just doing way too much. And while you are working out, try to stick to the free weights that don’t restrict your range of motion. A consistent regimen will definitely give you that physique that makes your clothes look like they were made for you. Who knows maybe you’ll get closer to that “V” physique that girls drool over
Be your own chef - Stop spending money at expensive restaurants that serve over sized portions. Save your dough for some other more fulfilling summer activities (aka partying!) Consider cooking instead of eating out. When you cook for yourself, you can save a significant amount of money while watching your waistline.
Additionally, it is definitely wise to….
Break the fast. Eat a wholesome breakfast.
Easy on the lunch. Eat a light lunch: for example, a sandwich with a lean protein along with some whole or multi- grain carbs.
Ditch the carbs. Prepare yourself a high protein meal with vegetables for dinner.
Stay energized. Munch on Mini Snacks in between meals to keep your metabolism up
Don't Stuff yourself. Make sure you meals are not necessarily large, but nutrient rich
Eat your greens. Incorporate a lot more fruits and vegetables into your diet
A wise man once said “If you feel good, you’ll look good” or was it the other way around. The fact of the matter is that if you take care of your body, you will feel good in the clothes you wear. If you take care of your style, then you will feel better about yourself. Therefore, it is a win win situation. So what are you waiting for ?.... get up!
